The Conabury Inn organised a football match against the Glencarn Hotel in Mindzenty Park on a beautiful sunny evening in July for the Annual Padraig Tavey Memorial Cup. Dermot and Patrick had their team managers selected early in the year so that they would have all the players fighting fit for the big day. As usual Mindzenty had the park looking super. It was a very competitive game with some yellow and red cards issued but at the final whistle Glencarn won the trophy.
