The 5th annual golf classic in memory of the late Una Cunningham took place on Friday 15 May in Concra Wood Golf Club raising over €10,350.

The main sponsors of this year’s event were Sally and Laurence Murtagh of Irish Home Care.

A great day was had by the many players in one of Ireland’s top golf courses with outstanding performances on the day by:

1st Place: Gerard Cunningham, Alan Sharkey, David Hanratty and Louise Hanratty.
2nd Place: Euro Tech – Greg Duffy, PJ Harte, Sean Me Coy and Martin Farnan.
3rd Place: Damien Cumiskey, James King, Eamon Burns and Clint Rushe.
4th Place: John Hanratty, Jim Hanratty, Sean Harvey and Seamus Whelan.

Owen’s family and friends have raised over €70,000 in the past five years and previously to this Una and her wonderful family and friends raised €14,130 for Castleblayney Cancer and €6,500 for Docus Centre at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda before her untimely death in 2008.

Without the support of families like the Cunningham’s we would not be in a position to support people living with cancer.

Plans are also on the way for next years golf classic which will take place on the Bank Holiday Monday 2 May 2016.
